Dear Diary …

I experienced something so terrifying this past weekend, I just had to share with all of my closest friends (you, lovely readers). On Saturday morning, underneath a shining sun, I was fully submerged in our great waterway, the Delaware River. (If you want to see the dreaded moment of impact, feast your eyes here.) Is my doctor concerned? Reasonably so. Have I taken enough showers to scrub the germs of who-knows-what-lives-in-the-Delaware off my body? I still have skin, so not nearly.

Now, this wasn’t my first time taking a dip in the Delaware, but that’s a story for another day (and my next therapy session). How may I have ended up in this predicament, you ask? I tried something new, which was my first mistake. Specifically, it was paddleboard yoga.

While there was a moment of horror, it was interesting to put myself out there, get a little wobbly and ultimately have a new scary story to share next time I sit around a campfire. So, I hope this anecdote inspires you to take the plunge this week. Or at least, remember to go about life equipped with a life jacket.
